In 2004, Devils Lake native Paula Anderson purchased the historic Carnegie Library building from the City of Devils Lake. After nearly 2 years of extensive renovations, the building is now the “jewel” of the Lake Region.
Available to host small events, the main level features the original oak woodwork and maple flooring, which has been refinished to their original brilliance. Two original fireplaces, previously covered completely by book shelves, were uncovered and are now in working condition.
The lower level was completely refurbished to accomodate three Lake Region businesses owned by Anderson - An Elegant Affair, Salon 2000 and Carnegie Art Gallerie.
